Outlook Express is one of the most widely used email clients for the simple reason that it is included with Windows and Internet Explorer on most computers sold. There are plenty of good alternatives, however for the basic user it will cover their needs just fine. You will find most computer professionals have a working knowledge of Outlook Express, so finding a helping hand should be easy.
The following instructions were created using version 6 of Outlook Express. Older versions dating back to version 4 will follow the same pattern.
You must already have an email account with DialupAtCost prior to following these instructions.
Start Outlook Express. Depending on your computer configuration, different windows may pop up while opening Outlook Express. Respond to these windows, until you have Outlook Express open and you are able to access the menu up top.
From the menu, choose Tools then Accounts. (if nothing happens when you click on Tools, it may be because another popup window needs a response)

Switch to Mail tab by clicking on it.
Remove all unwanted mail accounts you no longer use from the past
Click on the Add button then Mail to start the wizard.
Enter the name you want to appear on your emails (Display name), then click on the Next button.
Hint: Unlike your email address, you are allowed upper and lowercase letters, numbers, spaces and punctuation to make your name appear more attractive.

In all small/lowercase letters and no spaces, enter your DialupAtCost E-mail address, then click on the Next button.
(if Outlook Express does not accept your E-mail address, then you typed something wrong. Fix the mistake before your continue)

Your incoming mail server is a POP3 server (recommended). Both the incoming POP3 server and outgoing SMTP server are called mail.dialupatcost.ca. If in doubt, just fill out the screen exactly as below, then click on the Next button.

Your Account name is your FULL email address. Be sure to add @dialupatcost.ca to the end of your account name and enter your password, then click the Next button to continue.

You are not done setting up your email account, but click the Finish button anyway.

You will need to open the Properties of your newly created email account to make a quick modification.

Switch over to the Servers tab.

Enable the check box at the bottom of the window: My server requires authentication. Then click on the OK button.

Outlook Express is now setup and ready to use. Enjoy!
